Folding Fiberglass Mats (FFM)

Folded Fiberglass Mats (FFM) have long been the staple for foreign object damage (FOD) covers for rapid runway repair (RRR).  Although pavement repair is just one aspect of airfield damage repair (ADR), it is vitally important to the restoration and continuation of flight operations.  Our FFM’s and ancillary installation products are fully compliant with the United States Armed Forces ADR program detailed in Air Force Pamphlet (AFPAM) 10-219, Volume 4, Rapid Runway Repair Operations and the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) s/b 3-270-07 dated 12 August 2002.

AMS’s subsidiary, ReadymatUS, LLC has been manufacturing FFM’s since 2005.  Key engineering and executive personnel at ReadymatUS have been involved in FFM manufacturing since the concept’s inception in the early 1990’s.

The initial military specifications, RRR-88-003, 89-001, 89-002 and 89-003 have been revised, consolidated and updated in 2007 to MIL-DTL-32265.  It encompasses several major changes in the laminate schedule that directly impacts the end products performance.  ReadymatUS is the only manufacturer of FFM’s to be first article tested and approved by the United States Corps of Engineers to this new specification.  Our methods of manufacture is the preferred method by the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC).
